August was a super fun month for us! ⋆.˚⟡ ࣪ ˖
At the beginning of the month, our episode of In Class came out! It was so cool to see the final product. It's so special to be a part of something like this. If you haven't seen it yet you should definitely check it out...
To start August off we had a 3-day writing weekend. It was somewhat successful. We are still getting our footing as a band and figuring out the best way for us to write collaboratively. The more we do it the better it will get! We also were able to spend some time at a local recording studio and you may or may not hear the results of that experience soon...
On the 14th we played at Fun Time Pony with Hunnysuckle, Sallys Sewing Machine and The Invisible Bees. The show was fun and the sound guy was great! We could actually hear Violet! At this gig we celebrated Violet's Birthday with some silly covers, or we were going to before we had to cut our set early! Important songs go earlier in the set. Lesson learned! The Crazy Train is not ready to leave the station 😪
A week later on the 21st we celebrated Rohan's Birthday at our very first sold out show! We opened for Sesame Girl, who are actually originally from Canberra. This was one of our best shows yet! We've played Dissent several times at this point and haven't had a super successful show there until now. Earlier in the month, we had stickers made of Rohan's logo design and handed them out for free at this gig. After we played we got so much good feedback from the audience too! We also had people singing back some of our orignals at this gig which is a super cool feeling.
To finish of the month we were invited onto Woroni Radio. If you're not familiar with them, Woroni is the uni radio station at ANU and apparently the busiest uni radio in Australia! We had a 30 minute interview (our first ever!), then had some music of our choice play while we set up for our 60 minute live set. Their recording space is tiiiiny but we somehow managed to squeeze a whole drum kit in. It was a tight fit, but a super cool experience. There should be some clips on their socials!
As you can see, we've had a super hectic month! We've got some exciting stuff coming soon... but that will have to wait until after Erin goes on her well-deserved holiday.
