Super exciting stuff! We made a very special Paloma in Class episode with Room04! Check it out here!
We feel so lucky to have been invited to be a part of such an incredible thing happening right here in Canberra. The whole team put so much love and care into the episode, and you can really feel how much passion they all have when you watch it! The episode will be such a beautiful time capsule for us, and we can’t wait to see who they bring on next!
Earlier this year, we met J at the Rebus Theatre gig we both played. He is part of the crew behind Room04, a small team of young creatives who are showcasing local bands and their stories with fun interviews and tiny desk style concerts. J invited us to the shooting of the third episode (cj the sophomore), then invited us to make the next episode!
It was so cool meeting with him and the team to discuss what we'd like the episode to be like. We talked about how we met and our story and they came up with some fun ideas for skits between the songs. It was such a cool process the whole way through and we felt so out of our depth!
The day of filming was so fun! We started with the skit that plays at the very beginning of the episode. Their vision for the shot was us all having a low mood during a practice and thinking of how good it feels to perform. We all felt a bit silly acting, but it came out pretty good! All thanks to their great editing!
Their crew dressed the set with childhood photos of us, knickknacks and toys from our childhood, and lyrics from the songs we performed. They film the episodes in an old classroom, so the space is super intimate. We were able to invite just a handful of special guests who were all super sweet and supportive.
I'm so excited to see what they get up to in the future. It's such a unique and special way to showcase the Canberra scene and we are so excited to be included! This episode will be such a good time capsule for us to look back at and I'm so grateful for that.
You should totally give them a follow on Instagram and Youtube to support them and all of the great bands they showcase.
